Blogger move - ブログもお引っ越し？
Hello everyone! I am delighted to have been able to have a successfull first week at the new school! Our garden is great, with even enough space for parachute play, a REAL "Children's Garden" with flowers planted by Pre- schoolers, the after school writing class, and the Saturday Drama class. We also have a new class pet, Sonny, an Italian greyhound, whom even some friends were frightened of at first, is now a popular attraction. I have many high res photos to share, but once again, I have been continuing to face system errors on the BLOGGER, so I am looking into setting up a new one on excite.blog soon. As soon as the address/URL is concrete, I will start uploading there, and let you know of it here on Blogger. I appologize for the inconvenience. Thak you again! Headmitress, Ai Elena Ries-Yoshioka

CGIS Preschool/Afterschool/Saturday - NOV. 2007 - week 1
Hello CGIS Friends, Families, and Fans out there! This weeks's Preschool and Afterschool classes were all about food! We made special obento-lunch boxes for craft, learned about how to eat healthy through a food pyramid for science, talked about fruits & vegetables...and much more! We even looked at different dishes from around the world and identified them too! Photos will be uploaded early next week, due to some system problems on Blogger again...but please be sure to come back to see them!!!

NEW SCHOOL: Latest Information/最新情報
Hello!
Our move to the new CGIS campus is approaching fast! I am happy to share the latest information about our new school, where we will be starting classes from Tuesday, November 20th 2007. (There will be no clases on the Monday before the starting day, the 19th,due to a final safety check before the reception) .
Please take a look at the information below, and feel free to ask me (Ai/Headmistress) any questions.
If you are a viewer not enrolled in CGIS, and wish to visit us, please feel free to schedule a school visit from the weeek of November 26th (MON), 2007. We already have visitors scheduled on the 26th and the 27th. Thank you!

新校舎への移転をいよいよ今月、11月20日に控えとてもワクワクしている学長、アイです。（前日の月曜日、１９日は安全点検のためお休みです）そこで、新校舎についての最新情報をまとめさせて頂きました！
下記の情報をご確認の上、ご不明な点やご質問などございましたら、私、アイ（学園長）までお気軽にご相談ください。
なお、在学中でない方でご見学をご希望の方は、移転後の翌週11月26日以降から受け付けております。（現在２６日、２７日にご予約を頂いております。ありがとうございます。）是非新しくなったCGISに会いにきて下さい。スタッフ一同、心よりお待ちしております。

BUS & CAR/バスとお車
You can take any bus leaving from Kichijoji Sta. Inokashira Park Exit, in from of Marui Department Store. Please get off at the 4th stop, called "MYOJO GAKUEN IRIGUCHI"(MYOJO SCHOOL ENTRANCE). The fee is ¥210 for one way, and it takes about 7-10 minutes on the bus depending on the traffic. After you get off, walk to the right away from Kichijoji Sta. on Kichijoji Dori Ave. At the first corner, turn left on Myojyo Gakuen Dori. You should see a cake shop (delicious!) called HARVEST on your right, on the other side of the street before turning. After the turn, keep walking straight until you've reached the 3rd sidestreet on you left to the street. The silvery Compound with a silver gate and lots of bamboo. For a returning bus, please cross the road to find the bus stop back to KichijojiDori. Any bus except for a small red community bus will be fine. If you come by car, you can keep heading you car out straight until you're on back to Kichijoji Dori Ave.
吉祥寺駅の井の頭公園口にマルイ・デパートがあります。その通りにあるバス停からでしたら、どのバスにも乗って頂けます。バスに乗りましたら、４つ目の停留場、「明星学園前」でおりて下さい。乗車時間は車の込み具合にも寄りますが、７〜１０分です。運賃は片道¥210です。バス停におりましたら、吉祥寺とは反対の右方向へにまっすぐ進み、一つ目の角を左に曲がると明星通りに入ります（通りの反対側には、焼き肉屋さんと、とてもおいしいHARVESTというシフォンケーキ屋さんがあります）。明星通り５分ほど歩き、３つ目の曲がり角を更に左に曲がって下さい。この裏通りの右手にある銀色のゲートが学校への入り口です。お車でお越しの方は、そのまま道なりに通り抜けて頂くと、後に吉祥寺通りにぶちあたる明星通りに戻って頂けます。

CGIS Preschool - OCT. 2007 - week 5
This week's preschool started with a 4th birthday party of our classmate, followed by more exciting Halloween fun and Outdoor Activities. For example on Friday, which is when we have World Culture & Social Studies for academics, we had a glimpse of the mexican DIA DE MUERTE or the day of the dead. We even made our own little class pinata!! Tying in with our outdoor theme, we took the parachute to big park and played parachute games on the grass too.
今週もCGIS Preschoolはクラスメイトの４歳のお誕生日にはじまり、沢山の楽しいアクティヴィティにチャレンジできました！例えば、金曜日はアウトドアのテーマにのっとりお外で豪快にパラシュートゲームをしたり、アカデミックスの時間はワールドカルチャーとソーシャルスタディーズ（社会）に因んで、メキシコのお盆にあたるパーティーについて学んだりと盛りだくさん！

今週もCGIS Preschoolはクラスメイトの４歳のお誕生日にはじまり、沢山の楽しいアクティヴィティにチャレンジできました！例えば、金曜日はアウトドアのテーマにのっとりお外で豪快にパラシュートゲームをしたり、アカデミックスの時間はワールドカルチャーとソーシャルスタディーズ（社会）に因んで、メキシコのお盆にあたるパーティーについて学んだりと盛りだくさん！

Saturday Creative Drama - Oct. week 4
Last week's SAT class showed a lot of improvement in expression and self confidence. Even some who used to be super shy has started to reveal new sides of themselves that not even his/her parents had not seen before! With the move of the school approaching, which will enable us to have the Christmas performance in the new MPR instead of moving it to a public hall, Yuri and I are hoping there will be less chances of stage fright as well! If anybody wants to join the play at the last minute, we are short of kangaroos (which does not have too many lines) so please let us know!
Allow me to share some pictures from the Halloween Party! We were not able to take any photos of the actual play practice since we were so concentrated on it, but we will try to get some next week.
先週の土曜日クラスは表現力や自信に大きな変化が見られました。中でも、どちらかというとシャイだったお友達でも、ご家族すら見た事のないような弾けっぷりを見せてくれるようになりました！これもみんなの努力と、ドラマ・アクティヴィティのおかげかな？日に日に迫っている新校舎への移転も、これにより公民館のホールではなく、慣れた多目的ルーム（MPR）でそのまま上演できるので、ユリ先生も私（アイ）も緊張の度合いが少なくなるのではと期待しています。それでは、遅くなりましたがクラスのお写真をお楽しみください。この週のお稽古はとても集中していたのでうっかり稽古風景のお写真が撮れませんでしたが、主にハロウィンパーティーの模様など、お稽古以外のオフショットが満載です。来週はお稽古の模様もご紹介できるようにがんばります！
